This course prepares the seafarers in dealing with Port State Control Authorities by learning to; how ships are being targeted for inspection, anticipate deficiencies which are more likely lead to a detention, guidance on the conduct of PSC inspection, and outline typical actions when detainable deficiency is identified.

The seafarers will understand the cultural influences onboard their ships and identify cultural differences in their workplace. They should be able to manage and reconcile these differences in order to conduct a harmonious relationship onboard and to the offices ashore.

Seafarers will be guided on media response planning and execution during a marine emergency. It provides you with effective techniques for dealing with the incident itself, and internal and external communications including with the media and other important stakeholders.

Mental Health Management at Sea
Strategies for managing your mental health include prescription drugs for mental health disorders, seeking mental health therapy or making lifestyle changes. If you have a mental or behavioral health condition, using all three strategies is the most effective way to manage symptoms.

Hatch Cover Maintenance and Operation
Before closing the hatch covers, ensure that the hatch coamings and double drainage channels are swept clean of any cargo debris. This will ensure that the coaming drain non-return valve remains clear and free as well as ensuring that no damage occurs to either the hatch cover rubber packing or the compression bar.

IMDG Class 1 Explosives Training
This comprehensive certification course provides specialized training in the safe handling, stowage, segregation, and transportation of IMDG Class 1 explosives and explosive articles by sea. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code requirements specific to Class 1 materials, including all six divisions (1.1 through 1.6) and compatibility groups.
The course covers critical operational procedures for loading, unloading, and stowing explosive cargoes on vessels, with emphasis on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and emergency response. Through detailed instruction on classification systems, segregation tables, documentation requirements, and practical handling techniques, participants will develop the expertise necessary to safely manage explosives in maritime transport environments while meeting international regulatory standards.
